Non-lubricated Versus Lubricated Condoms

Feb 29, 2016

We all know that condoms are the most effective in preventing the spread of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and well as preventing pregnancy. Condoms come in many different textures, colors, sizes, and even flavors. The textured ones help stimulate your partner more. They have condoms that are like bare skin so that it feels more natural. They have lubricated and non-lubricated.The chances are that most people don't know much about non-lubricant condoms, even if you are a long-time condom user. Naturally, you would wonder why use non-lubricated versus the traditional lubricated condom. Why would it be handy to have them around?

One of the reasons is that you can choose the lubricant of yours and your partner's preference. Most lube users know just how much a high or low-quality lube can make a difference during intercourse. Did you know that inadequate lube is one of the top reasons why condoms break? When you can choose your own lube, you have so many choices. You just have to remember that you can't use an oil-based lube when using a latex condom. The oil breaks the latex down which will cause it to break. You can go with a silicone based lubricant like Swiss Navy Silicone Lubricant, an all natural lube like Spunk Pink, a waterproof lube like Sliquid Ride Dude Lube Silicone Lubricant, flavored lube like Wet Fun Flavors 10ml Pillow, a warming lube like Astroglide Warming Liquid Lubricant, or even an analgesic lube. As you can see, there is an array of lube products to choose from to add to the pleasure of your sexual experience. Spice it up and try something new. Switch it around. You can even come up with your own concoction and mix two together.

Non-lubricated condoms are great for oral sex too. Lubricated condoms tend to have an unpleasant taste and odor. If you and your partner love the idea of oral sex, but hate the taste of lube in your mouth then this is the ticket. They even come in colors and flavors like the Flavored Condom Sampler. How great is that? Adding some flavor to your sex routine has to be fun. How could it not be? To learn more about the flavor condoms I recommend that you read the blog on Condomania.com titled The What and Why are Condoms Flavored.

Some people have allergies and that's just the way it is. Using non-lubricant condoms can help solve this problem too. Women have very delicate, sensitive parts and have a pH balance. Lubricated condoms contain substances in them that can throw that balance off and cause a slew of problems that are less than desirable side effects like yeast infections. Most condom companies do not include the ingredients of the lubricant that is used on their condoms. Thus, the right to choose your own lube you will be able to see exactly what you are using and the ingredients are right there in the bottle of lube. That way you know exactly what you are putting into your body.

Whether you choose lubricated or non-lubricated, please remember the most important thing about condoms and the reason for using one in the first place - to prevent pregnancy and disease. Make sure you are using and putting it on correctly too. Practice makes perfect! It doesn't have to be a solo practice either. Let your partner share in the experience. You can even make it sexy. We all know in the heat of the moment, it is the last thing that you want to really do. You don't want to interrupt the moment, but I'm sure we all agree that an interrupted moment is a lot better than a lifetime of disease or at least 18 years of sole responsibility for another human being or something worse. Condoms play a big part in sexual relationships. They are part of marriages, friends with benefits, engaged partners, homosexual and heterosexual relationships. They are important to any sexual relationship no matter what the stipulations are of the relationship. So let's not put up with all the excuses that partners give us about wearing condoms. You know we've all heard them. "I can't feel anything when I'm wearing one" or "It's too tight" or whatever he can come up with to try to talk you into letting him go without one. You have to decide what is more important, your health or their sensation. You have the right to say, "No condom, no sex!"

The choice is really yours and your partner's decision. It's all on the what your personal preference is and what you enjoy. We are basically the only species that have sex for pleasure. So, take control and try new things. Try the non-lubricant condoms and be adventurous with the lube of choice. Try some flavors whether it be the lube or the condom itself. Strawberry, vanilla, banana, and mint are just a few. Sounds yummy, huh? Have fun with it. Try something new, different, and even exciting. Make it a game. It's important to keep your sex life exciting and interesting and safe. Don't be afraid to try something new.

On a funny side note, non-lubricated condoms are also used by soldiers on their guns to keep sand out, musicians and sound recorders use them to keep their mics from shorting out from sweat, and survivalist uses them as a makeshift canteen (they can hold up to a liter of water). I guess you really don't know whenever you may need a non-lubricated condom!?! LOL.
